Why I Chose Yale-NUS
What could be possibly more exciting than studying in Asia in a liberal arts college that draws on the intellectual traditions of the West and the East?
I’ve also been given an incredible opportunity to travel the world and broaden my horizons. I went on school trips to India, China and Indonesia. Moreover, I spent my entire junior year studying abroad in France.
What I Love Most About Yale-NUS
Everyone here has a dream. Students are very active, ambitious and motivated. They have founded their own organizations, companies, music bands etc. This really pushes you past your comfort zone and gives you confidence that you can make a difference in this world.
Best Moment I’ve Had At Yale-NUS
Week 7 in India. Having the opportunity to travel in Tamil Nadu with Professor Barney Bate was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. My best memories from this trip include: listening to music and singing in our small white van while admiring the picturesque landscape (yes, it felt like a hippy trip from the 60s), stargazing and watching the Milky Way moving over the top of one of the greatest Chola temples, and being served meals on banana leaves in some of Barney’s favourite restaurants.
